puppy beanie pattern
Anyone who has a dog loves them, right? Well, why not show them how much you love them by making a hat to match them! I used the black and tan because the dog was black and tan went with it, but you can always use colors that match the colors of your dog. It’s a sweet pattern to show how much you love your furry friend!
Size:
Adult (one size)
Materials:
2 skeins Mission Falls 1824 Wool in Tan (MC)
1 skein Mission Falls 1824 Wool in Black (CC)
US 8 Circular Needles (16 inch)
US 8 Double Pointed Needles (Set of 5)
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
K: knit
K2tog: knit 2 sts together
PM: place marker
P: purl
Rem: remaining
Rnd: round
Sts: stitches
Charts:
Instructions:
Using circular needles and MC, CO 100 stitches and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist stitches.
Work K1, P1 rib for 6 rnds. K 5 rnds.
Rnd 1 – 2: Work 2 rnds of Accent Chart
Rnd 3: *K33, pm, repeat from * around.
Rnd 4 – 28: Work 25 rnds of Dog Chart
Rnd 5 – 6: Work 2 rnds of Accent Chart
Decreasing:
Rnd 1: *K8, K2tog, repeat from * around (90 sts)
Rnd 2: *K7, K2tog, repeat from * around (80 sts)
Rnd 3 (and all odd rnds): K around
Rnd 4: *K6, K2tog, repeat from * around (70 sts)
Rnd 6: *K5, K2tog, repeat from * around (60 sts)
Rnd 8: *K4, K2tog, repeat from * around (50 sts)
Rnd 10: *K3, K2tog, repeat from * around (40 sts)
Rnd 12: *K2, K2tog, repeat from * around (30 sts)
Rnd 14: *K, K2tog, repeat from * around (20 sts)
Rnd 16: K2tog around (10 sts)
Finishing:
Break your yarn, leaving a 6” tail. With your tapestry needle, thread yarn tail through the remaining live stitches and pull tightly to close the top of your hat.
Weave in all ends.
